Trumpet Lessons

Adrian's Teaching Philosphy

 * I am currently teaching online one-on-one lessons through Zoom / Skype / Facetime. (due to covid19) Possibly September 2021 I will resume in person lessons for those who prefer.

My teaching philosophy is to start with a good foundation of proper technique with the emphasis on tone quality, control and efficiency.  Since the trumpet is a physically demanding instrument I spend a lot of time on these basics because once they are learned, everything else on the trumpet will take a lot less effort not to mention improvement in the sound.  The result of this is the students increased enjoyment in playing music.  My lessons are catered towards the student's needs and wants out of what they would like out of the lesson.  From there I proceed with specific goals in mind to achieve this.  With that said a lot of the exercises for almost all of my students at the beginning are the same, as the foundation for trumpet students does not change much from student to student.  Once the student has a good grasp of these basics we would then proceed with more challenging exercises and also add in some material that's a little more fun such as duets and songs the student would like to learn.  My goal is to give the student the tools and confidence necessary for continual improvement on their instrument.
